You continue to accrue holiday entitlement during periods of maternity, paternity, adoption, parental or shared parental leave (“family leave”). If you are planning a period of family leave, you should agree your holiday plans with your manager before your family leave commences.
If you are not reasonably able to take your full holiday entitlement before you start your family leave, you may carry the remaining days forward to the following holiday year. Any carried over days should be taken either immediately before you return to work (in which case you will be paid for them at your normal rate of pay), or within three months of your return.
