This holiday pay calculator can help calculate if an employee is entitled to payment in lieu of notice (PILON) when they leave their job.
The calculation is based on their start date, end date, salary amount and how much holiday they’ve taken so far in the year.
If a team member leaves before taking their full holiday allowance, a company may need to pay them payment in lieu of notice for their full holiday allowance. A company can use this calculator to work out either how much a they owe a team member, or how much annual leave is owed to that person in their notice period.
This calculator can also work out if a team member has taken more than their remaining annual leave entitlement. It’s important to note that the procedure for dealing with this scenario should be outlined in an employment handbook or contract. Without this, the company cannot demand payment for leave taken.
